We are very pleased to announce that following our SIA ACS audit by the NSi and gaining a score of 115, SAS-MS have retained our SIA ACS Pacesetter for 2024-25.
To achieve SIA ACS (Security Industry Authority Approved Contractor Status) accreditation companies must reach the required minimum achievement level for all indicators in the Self Assessment Workbook (SAW). The maximum score now achievable is +145 points, a reduction of 30 points on the previous SAW.
Based on the ACS scores published on the SIA website, with effect from 1st April 2022 companies audited against the current SAW will require a score of +104 to place them in the top 15% of all SIA ACS accredited contract security companies and make them eligible to join The ACS Pacesetters.
There are currently approximately 810 Contract Security Guarding Companies who have achieved ACS accreditation therefore, it is very difficult for the buyers of security services to differentiate between them. The ACS Pacesetters places emphasis on the importance of the annual score, making the tender process for end-users very much simpler.
In restricting membership of the ACS Pacesetters to the top 15% of SIA approved security companies, approximately 120 organisations are eligible to join. These companies, both national and regional, have proved they are market leaders in the security guarding industry and are therefore capable of providing an excellent standard of service to their clients and a high degree of care for their employees.

Stephen Turner: Managing Director
With over 20 years of experience within the security industry, Steve started SAS Managed Services Ltd in 2018 and is the Managing Director of the Company. Steve has overall responsibility for the service delivery and management of all contracts, strategically developing his team to drive forward his own message of “Getting it right first time!”. As the MD Steve has continued to develop existing client relationships while facilitating new partnerships and alternative development funding solutions.
Martin Urand: Operations & Compliance Director
Martin joined the Security Industry in 2001 after completing 27 years in the Armed Forces. Working for a global Security Company as an area manager and operations manager, gaining extensive knowledge of the security industry in loss prevention, investigations, distribution warehousing and profit protection joined SAS-MS in 2018 as the Operations & Risk Manager. Martin is responsible for Health & Safety, Company Operations, reviewing working practices; managing the operations process from concept to keys, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget and meeting client expectations.
Mandy Turner: Account & Administration Manager
As the Office Manager, Mandy deals with the everyday support of current operations which includes accounts Payable/Receivable, Payroll, Project documentation, recruitment, staff welfare, transport and supporting the operational team out in the field.
I wanted to thank you both for your services in 2023, it’s all positive feedback from myself and we have been happy with the security team and staff that were sent to cover our events. I have fed this back to the rest of the team so no doubt they will be in touch in the new year to book future events.

‘MAC Group have been using SAS MS for a number of years following an arson attack on one of our sites which resulted in the loss of around £1m worth of plant. The service we have received has been professional, reliable and the guards are always friendly and approachable and have slotted into our business with virtually no disruption. They respond to issues immediately and always contact us to detail potential security issues, they also monitor our security cameras on a number of sites and I cannot fault the service they provide. Tamworth Fireworks event is an event we support and normally has around 20 - 25,000 people attend. Due to weather we had around 14-16,000 attend this year.
The Council appointed SAS Managed Services Ltd (security) for this years event. I was incredibly impressed by this company and their presence, organisation, awareness and ability to deal with situations. They provided a significant number of staff all of whom acted professionally on the night. They attended pre event meetings and have provided valuable and constructive feedback at the event debrief.
